Reserve Hose Co. proudly protects approximately 15,000 people living in an area of about 11 square miles in the town of West Seneca, NY. We operate out of 2 stations, protecting a primarily residential area. Our fire department is a public department whose members are 100% volunteer.
The mission and purpose of the Reserve Hose Fire Company is to prevent loss of life and to control or reduce the loss of property by applying all of our professional knowledge and resources. We will accomplish this mission through fire suppression, rescue, first aid, code enforcement, public education, fire investigation and professional development training. It is our number one priority to provide the best fire and medical services to all the citizens and visitors of our community.
The most critical aspect of any working fire is water. Quick access to a fire hydrant can be the difference between winning and losing the battle. The winters in Western New York can make firefighting extremely difficult and locating a hydrant is imperative for any operation. Thanks to the work of one of our members Boy Scout Eagle project, his troop sourced, manufactured and assembled the components needed for new hydrant markers. Reserve Hose firefighters worked over three weeks to install 200+ markers within our district. Please be aware of any hydrants near your residence and keep it clear of three feet of snow in all directions. Help us, Help you!
One of the highlights on the fire department calendar is the annual Village of Lancaster fire truck Christmas parade. Despite the threat of a severe winter storm and cold temperatures, our crew could not be deterred in setting up Reserve Engine 1 with lights, inflatables and all sorts of accouterments. A wonderful ride down Central Avenue followed the installation, with lots of cheers, waves and smiles with all the onlookers. Reserve Hose wishes a safe and happy holiday to all!
